DVM, Owner
Dr. Marr's journey began as a veterinarian assistant in a small animal clinic during her undergraduate studies. It was during this time that she discovered the transformative power of low-stress handling techniques, sparking her deep passion for creating a stress-free experience for pets. Pursuing her dream, she completed her veterinary training at Ross University and her Clinical year at Cornell, gaining invaluable experience in various hospitals along the way.In October 2021, Dr. Marr took a significant step forward by acquiring Genesee Valley Veterinary Hospital. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to build a team of dedicated professionals who share her commitment to providing exceptional care and forging lasting relationships with our clients.
Administrative Assistant
Shauna Marr, Office Manager, coordinates and oversees all office administration procedures. Shauna has a background in Immunology and Business Administration. She graduated from the University of Rochester in 2006 with her MS degree. She is also in the process of completing an AS in Business Administration at Monroe Community College and is also becoming certified in Low-Stress Handling.In her spare time, Shauna is passionate about natural healing modalities and is certified in Transformational Life Coaching and The Body Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson. Shauna loves the opportunity to help streamline the business aspect of the hospital and support her sister so that she can focus on being such a great doctor.
Office Manager
Kimberly Wells, Receptionist, is responsible for maintaining client relationships, recently joined Genesee Valley Veterinary Hospital.She is enjoying meeting and getting to know all of the clients and patients. She is looking forward to working with the team of dedicated and caring professionals to help create an enjoyable experience for the animals and their owners when they visit.Kim has three dogs: Max, Pax, and Leo, and many farm babies as well! She lives on a farm in Springwater where she enjoys gardening, hunting, and making goat cheese in her spare time. Kim loves being able to bring her dogs, rabbits, goats, and sheep to local nursing homes to watch residents smile when they pet them and share stories with her of the special animals they previously shared their lives with.
Records Keeper
Amy Marnon, Records Keeper, is responsible for maintaining medical records and inventory as well as assisting with checking patients in and out. She has been with Genesee Valley Veterinary Hospital for over 20 years. Even with all her experience, Amy believes there is always more to learn. She is currently working on becoming certified in Low-Stress Handling to ensure pets have a positive experience at the clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys nature photography, embroidery, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.She has always had a love of animals, and has passed that love on to her children as well. Between Amy and her three daughters, her family currently has 4 dogs, 8 cats, and a lizard. Her house has been home to many animals, including rescued dogs and cats, 3-day old kittens, ferrets, hamsters, a chinchilla, rabbits, ducks, and even a turtle! Her love of animals certainly shows when she is at work. She treats every patient as if they were her own.
Receptionist
Laurel Frenette, our receptionist, joined us in October of 2022 after retiring from a 20-year career in property management, working primarily with seniors in affordable housing settings. She brings a wide variety of customer service skills to the practice and especially enjoys interacting with our senior community to keep their pets healthy so they can enjoy a long life together. Laurel holds a BS in Business Management from Nazareth College and is in the process of becoming certified in Low-Stress Handling.A dog lover by nature, Laurel finds herself in the position of having two wonderful feline companions, one of which at least thinks he is a dog. In her spare time, Laurel can be found riding at a local stable and finding ways to combine her love of horses and traveling, making Wyoming one of her favorite destinations. After crossing Mongolia off her bucket list, Laurel has her sights set on a dream trip to Peru, riding on horseback to explore the countryside and seeing Machu Pichu. Laurie believes that earning an animal's trust is a gift and that the bond between a pet caretaker and their pet is filled with love and respect. She enjoys meeting all of our clients and their pets and getting to know the stories of their time together.
Kennel Technician/Vet Assistant
Conner supports with low-stress restraint during examinations. He is learning quickly in his transition from large to small animal settings but is diligent in cleaning and disinfecting, along with feeding and walking patients. Prior to being with the hospital he finished his Agricultural Technology Associate in Science degree at Alfred State and is working on obtaining his bachelors in the same field. In his spare time, Conner loves to be outdoors enjoying nature. He also likes to go to the gym to train in hopes of competing in powerlifting competitions. Conner is passionate about helping provide the best possible care for animals during their stay at the clinic and through assisting co-workers in tasks during the client’s appointments or after.Veterinary Assistant
Meganne Moore, Veterinary Assistant, is passionate about providing compassionate and efficient care to animals of all kinds. She joined Genesee Valley Veterinary Hospital this year, assisting veterinarians in ensuring the health and well-being of their patients. Meganne’s love for animals began at an early age, leading her to spend 12 years in 4-H, where she actively showed and volunteered in several species areas, including horses, sheep, and dogs. This hands-on experience deepened her understanding of animal care and management, shaping her commitment to the veterinary field.She earned an A.S. in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Flex STEM from SUNY Genesee Community College and is now pursuing a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Sustainability Studies at SUNY Geneseo. Outside of work and academics, Meganne enjoys painting and continuing to show horses, combining her creative passions with her lifelong love of animals. She lives by the belief that "If you never try, you don’t know what you are capable of" and applies this philosophy to her life, always eager to learn and grow. With aspirations of becoming a veterinarian, Meganne is dedicated to gaining invaluable experience in veterinary medicine, striving to provide comfort, care, and education to both pets and their owners.Veterinary Technician
Brittany has been a part of the GVVH Team since 2025. As a Veterinary Technician, she is responsible for preparing patients for surgery, running lab diagnostics, performing dental X-Rays and cleanings, tending to patient care, educating clients and the community, and communicating directly with clients. Brittany is a FearFreeSM certified professional and values creating a calm and comfortable patient experience. Prior to joining our team, Brittany earned her AAS in Applied Science and her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Genesee Community College in 2016. Brittany enjoys client education and being part of such a great team. At home, Brittany has 7 cats. In her free time, she likes gardening, hiking, listening to music and shopping.We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse or harassment towards our staff.
