Tests We Perform

We offer comprehensive annual bloodwork and screening services.

At Genesee Valley Veterinary Hospital, we offer comprehensive annual bloodwork and screening services for senior dogs and cats. We use state-of-the-art equipment and technology to perform the following tests:

Complete Blood Count (CBC): A CBC measures the number and types of cells in your pet’s blood, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It can help detect infections, anemia, inflammation, bleeding disorders, and immune system problems.
Blood Chemistry Panel: A blood chemistry panel measures the levels of various substances in your pet’s blood, such as glucose, electrolytes, enzymes, proteins, and hormones. It can help assess the function and health of your pet’s organs, such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and thyroid.
Urinalysis: A urinalysis tests your pet’s urine’s physical and chemical properties, such as color, clarity, pH, specific gravity, protein, glucose, ketones, blood, and bacteria. It can help detect urinary tract infections, kidney disease, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders.
Fecal Exam: A fecal exam tests your pet’s stool for the presence of parasites, such as worms and protozoa. It can help prevent and treat parasitic infections that can cause diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and other complications.
Senior Pet X-rays: X-rays are images of your senior pet’s bones and internal organs produced by radiation. They can help monitor their health and detect age-related conditions such as fractures, arthritis, tumors, foreign bodies, and other abnormalities.
